Physiotherapy

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Physiotherapy has a very wide scope of practice. According to the World Health Organisation physiotherapists “assess, plan and implement rehabilitative programs that improve or restore human motor functions, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes, and treat or prevent physical challenges associated with injuries, diseases and other impairments.” At Cape Town Therapy Hub we focus on providing comprehensive assessments and treatments for the following (but not limited to):

For children:

  • Neurological disorders (Cerebral Palsy, spina bifida, traumatic brain injuries, Guillan Barre syndrome, meningitis
  • Developmental delays/difficulties
  • Infants born prematurely or with a complicated birth
  • Coordination difficulties
  • Genetic conditions/syndromes (Down syndrome, Moebius Syndrome, muscular dystrophies)
  • Rheumatological conditions (Ehler-Danlos, Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis)
  • Musculoskeletal conditions (club feet, scoliosis, leg length discrepancies, hypermobility)

For adults our focus falls on outpatient rehabilitation of neurological conditions including:

  • Stroke

Our physiotherapist also offers home visits for adult neurological patients that are unable to travel. Please contact us for more information regarding this service.
